About Me

Ben Hall

I can still vividly remember the first time I played basketball with the local kids. I didn’t make any basket and worst, I went home black and blue because I was not prepared for the very physical nature of the sport. But that was years ago and everything has changed…

While I am not at the same league as Kobe, Dwayne or LeBron; I am now a lot better in playing basketball. I can confidently match up against anyone who challenges me on a one-on-one game. But I would say I am much more of a team player as not only can I win a game for my team, but also help my teammates look and play better. Because while I can rack up the points any given day, I can also make those miracle passes to a teammate who is wide open for a shot.

But I can do all that because I was able to learn the basics of basketball. We all start at the bottom, what makes the big difference is the training we get along the way. And that is what I got with the help of Garland Pinholster’s book title “Modern Basketball Defense“. You might say, ‘but it’s about defense, not offense?’. Just keep in mind the old saying that says the best offense is a good defense. For you to score you need to know how to shut down your opponent so the ball is always in your hands for you to make a point. Well, maybe not always but you get my point.

So learn the basics of playing basketball and even better, learn how to do an effective basketball defense. If you are a player it will improve your basic skills. If you are a coach, you can use it as your guide book to finally score wins for your team.
